The radio controlled model flying site is approximately 2 miles South of West Calder in West Lothian and just beside the South Lanarkshire border. Meetings are also held in the West Calder Community Centre which has full television, video and overhead projector facilities and computer room. See here for West Calder map.

Directions:

From Glasgow / The West etc
The easiest way is to come off at Junction 4,
Go South for 1/2 a mile
Turn RIGHT into Whitburn
Continue to main crossroads/traffic lights in centre of town
Turn left (south) along the A706
Carry on until crossroads/traffic lights at A71/A706 junction
Turn left (heading East) and go through Briech (don't blink or you'll miss it)
Take the next right following signs for Cobbinshaw, Woolfords,Auchengray, Tarbrax
Go straight over at staggered cross-roads at the A704
Carry on for about 2 1/2 miles or so.
We are the big field on the right, just after the "South Lanarkshire" signpost. Keep going until you get to our driveway on the right hand side of the road.

From the North or East:
Get to the Forth Road Bridge (big thing, can't miss it really)
Take the left exit going up to roundabout as soon as you go past the toll-booths
Turn left at the roundabout
Go straight across at Tesco roundabout
Turn right at next roundabout onto motorway
Go straight through underpass heading for Glasgow (watch for speed camera)
Take left turn-off to Livingston
Take left spur or go to roundabout & turn left
Carry on dual carridgeway until Lizzie Brice roundabout
Turn right onto A71 heading towards Polbeth & Westcalder
Go right through West Calder on the main road
Just after West Calder veer left along the A704
After 2 miles or so, at staggered crossroads, turn left towards Woolfsords / Auchengray / Tarbrax (small narrow road)
Carry on for about 2 1/2 miles or so.
We are the big field on the right, just after the "South Lanarkshire" signpost. Keep going until you get to our driveway on the right hand side of the road.

From the Edinburgh: Route A
Head West around the city bypass and take the motorway to Glasgow
Take left turn-off to Livingston
Take left spur or go to roundabout & turn left
Carry on dual carridgeway until Lizzie Brice roundabout
Turn right onto A71 heading towards Polbeth & Westcalder
Go right through West Calder on the main road
Just after West Calder veer left along the A704
After 2 miles or so, at staggered crossroads, turn left towards Woolfsords / Auchengray / Tarbrax (small narrow road)

From the Edinburgh: Route B
Head West along the A70 through Currie and Balerno
Turn right onto B7008 and continue past Harburn Golf Club
Turn left at next crossroads
towards Woolfsords / Auchengray / Tarbrax
Go for about 1 1/2 miles then turn left at T juncion

Carry on for about 1/2 mile or so.
We are the big field on the right, just after the "South Lanarkshire" signpost. Keep going until you get to our driveway on the right hand side of the road.
Alternatively you can carry on past the B7008 and take the Tarbrax road. Go past Tarbrax then turn right to continue past Woolfords for 1/2 mile to the flying site.


Unfortunately we need to keep a padlock on our front gate to keep the sheep in, so carefully climb over and have a look if there is no-one there.
