The Build

This has to be the easiest model I have ever built. When it arrives in it's box it's almost built, talk about ARTF!!. There is about 10 pieces in the kit and it only has to be Cyano'd together. In the instructions recommend that you use Kicker and I would agree with this as it makes the build even quicker. The quality of the kit is good and the motors, props and wiring loom are included in the kit. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and very quickly the Twinjet starts to go together. After gluing on the nose to the main fuse, install the radio bay and poke holes through the sides for the cables, install the motors in the preformed mounts, add props, radio and fly. It really is as simple as that ( and that comes from a non-builder ) and the results are superb. You now have the option to spray paint / Trim or decorate in a way that you feel you like. I plumbed for the fast 'Solartrim' method, being careful to make the model as visible as possible ( from previous experience of flying this model, I knew that this was a problem ). Having now got the model kitted out it was time to go for the maiden flight.

The Flight
Maiden flights, as all modellers will tell you, are always the worst. You've set the model up as per the instructions and hope that these are right. The Twinjet was ready on Christmas Eve and I thought that I wouldn't get it tested, but my brother-in-law, Andy came up for Christmas with his Twinjet and we decided that, as it was a nice day, that we would take mine out. Up at the field all was quiet on the wind front and after preflight checks and engine tests the model was fit for the air. After a good hand launch from Andy the model took to the air and only required a small bit of right trim and a little of down. She (the Twinjet) flew like a dream, fast, fairly quite and maneuverable she zipped round the sky. Time to try some rolls.....yep no problems there....stall turns (as much as a Twinjet with no rudder can)...not bad..fast low passes she looks the part. It takes a little while to get used to the pusher configuration if you are not used to it, but I must say it looks the business. Landing is easy as this model does not stall, the approach can be nice and slow and drop down onto the strip.

The Summary
There is only one way to describe this model, and that's I LOVE IT. It's fun, fast and looks the part in the air. As my first electric model I would recommend it, although it is not a beginners model flying wise. It would appear from reading the magazines, that it has been the most popular model this year, and after using it now for a while I would definitely see a future for electric modeling. I remember when electric models first appeared as gliders and that was about all you could get, now with the Twinjet and models like it, electric has an appeal to a far wider type of modeller, and just think there's no mess no engine tuning, just switch on and fly, it can't get much better than that!!.
